We first visited Uganda in 2012 and while visiting friends in Kiti, a poor rural village in Wakiso district, we witnessed the struggle that families have to provide an education for their children, the result of this is that many young people are left with little hope of fulfilling their potential and are caught up in a cycle of poverty.
Out of this came our vision to improve the opportunities for education in the village for those who could not access it and to provide them with a brighter future.
Meet the Team & Trustees
All our UK team and trustees work for the charity in volunteer capacity
Why choose New Mind?
We are a fully independent registered charity organised by volunteers.
We are guided by our christian values.
We primarily work with a single village in Uganda.
Our charity has been delivering projects for over 8yrs.
As a business, we are delighted to be standing alongside the team as part of our overall giving strategy. This really is a significant work and a credit to all - both in the UK and of course, “on the ground”. Pleasingly, they deliver impressive and well-evidenced results.
I am pleased to commend New Minds’ endeavours
Ewloe Green School
Since partnering our pupils have developed as learners and global citizens. They have compared their own lives and those of children in Uganda, learning from first hand experiences. Thus far it has been a very fruitful partnership, with school clubs and focused learning weeks being completed with the emphasis on Uganda.
